Apple of our Eye: Intern Edition

Sometimes we read comments like "what's it like to intern at Shabby Apple?" or "that seems like the dream internship" and... well, to be honest, it kinda is guys. Don't get us wrong, it takes a lot of work, but we absolutely love what we do here. So for this weeks "Apple of Our Eye" we will be spotlighting the interns!
Here's a little peek at what we do:
What we do 60% of the time - Finding blogs to partner up with us and hold giveaways or other cool things like that, answer many emails. Plan, plan, plan for the blog, brainstorm.
What we do 40% - Laugh, style outfits, munch on snacks, talk about how cute all your blogs are, solve world problems, laugh, get "the look" from Sophia (our supervisor), try to get back to work, whisper, come up with hundreds of impossible ideas for the blog, collaborate on one or two really awesome possible ideas for the blog, help move stuff,  listen to funny stories from Sophia and Mary (the warehouse manager), plan for photo shoots, listen to Sophia's music, build forts, schedule stuff, and mostly feel really grateful we get to be there.
So who are the interns?
Katie:
What's your favorite part of working for SA? I love working at Shabby Apple! It's a great opportunity to gain valuable experience and grow professionally, all while hanging out with my favorite girls and doing things I love. The free clothes don't hurt either :)
What's your "go-to" item in your closet? A chambray shirt, hands down. Actually, I'm wearing one right now! Dress it up, dress it down, wear it all over town. (Also, sometimes Katie rhymes.)
What are some of the pieces you've written for the blog? I wrote the piece on back to school essentials, the greeting card DIY, as well as the "Breaking the Rules" post. (and many more, Katie is being modest)
Brooke:
What's your favorite part of working at SA? I love getting to do so many different types of things. There are so many different opportunities that are available that really challenge me and are really fun at the same time. Plus the people I work with are a lot of fun! What's your "go-to" item in your closet? Well right now it is my tan leather jacket. I wish I could wear it every day! What are some pieces you've written for the blog? I wrote an interview on Janica who designed the Zoology collection. I also wrote a Style Me Monday: Labor Day and a tutorial on how to make Oreo Truffles (yeah, that's coming soon, how exciting?!)
Sam:
What's your favorite part of working for SA? Meeting great new people and working on the [Shabby] Apple a Day Blog. What's your "go-to" item in your closet? Chambray Shirt, I wear it with absolutely everything. (The amount of times Katie and Sam show up matching is getting pretty serious) What are some of the pieces you've written for the blog? Style Me Monday: Headliner Dress, the first Apple of our Eye: Athelia Woolley LeSueur, as well as a special style icon piece that hasn't been posted yet. (it's a good one guys).
Brecca:
What's your favorite part of working at SA? Building Ikea furniture. (Brooke and Brecca built aprox. 1000 ikea desks for our move. Maybe it was more like 5, but still!) What's your "go-to" item in your closet? jean jacket. What are some of the pieces you've written for the blog? Spotlight on Ask Kate, and the Fall Bucket List. (also, Brecca has two gorgeous baby girls, she's the mommy in the group)
Marissa:
What's your favorite part of working at SA? The people I intern with! All of them are so nice and fun to be around. There is never a dull moment in the intern room at Shabby Apple. What's your "go-to" item in your closet? I would say my ripped jeans and a big sweater. What are some of your pieces you've written for the blog? Etsy Round Up and DIY Hair Care Edition (among others, and some fun stuff coming soon, too.)
Robmary (Rob):
What's your favorite part of working at SA? Our new warehouse is awesome. And everybody's awesome face! Basically I just really love my fellow interns. What's your "go-to" item in your closet? I wear my black maxi skirt way too much, goes with everything. And jeggins, please don't judge me. What are some of the pieces you've written for the blog? The Apple Pockets Recipe, and Style Me Monday: Maternity Line (Rob isn't a mommy, but she sure had fun with that Style Me Monday - she just really loves polyvore), and some other stuff scheduled to come out soon.
Barbara:
What's your favorite part about working at SA? How awesome the people are and how nice they treat you. What's your "go-to" item in your closet? My white leather jacket. What are some of the pieces you've written for the blog? I haven't written anything yet :( (Last Tuesday was Barb's first day, but don't worry, she'll be writing quite soon)
There you have it! We have some more interns that work from home, and we also have the original writer for the blog, Frances - so as you can see, lots of hard work and love goes into this blog, and into this company! (Don't even get us started on all the full time workers). So now that you've read a bit about us, a challenge: Can you guess which intern wrote this post?
